A targeting vector was designed to insert a mutant human CD2 and a neo cassette in place of exon 1. The mutant CD2 was altered such that the cytoplasmic domain and ligand binding activity were eliminated. The endogenous gene was completely disrupted but the CD2 expression was preserved. (J:111440)
