The transgene containing the mouse oxytocin gene including 0.47 kb upstream of the transcriptional start site, and exons 2 and 3 of the vasopressin gene was modified by inserting the EGFP gene (Clonetech) in-frame into exon 3 of the oxytocin gene. The transgene is selectively expressed in oxytocin-magnocellular neurons of the paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei of the thalamus. (J:111958, J:111959)
