A 2.3 kb genomic fragment containing all three coding exons, 840 bp of the putative promoter and 100 bp 3' relative to the termination codon was deleted and replaced with a hygromycin selection cassette, loxP site and a promoterless puromycin resistance gene. RT-PCR analysis confirmed that no detectable transcript was expressed from this allele. (J:50872)
