A targeting vector was designed to replace sequence encompassing exon 9 and part of exon 10, sequence encoding the H3 and transmembrane domains, with a neomycin resistance gene. Northern blot and Western blot analyses confirmed the absence of transcript and protein, respectively, from mutants. (J:109042)
