A targeting vector was designed to replace sequence containing the start codon and the flanking intronic region with the neomycin resistance gene. RT-PCR demonstrated a lack of transcript in mutants. Western blot showed no wild-type protein, but absence of C-terminally truncated proteins could not be concluded. (J:106931)
