Cre mediated recombination resulted in the deletion of the protocadherin gamma locus extending from subfamily A, 1 to the third common exon. Northern blot using a probe for the protocadherin gamma common exons confirmed the complete loss of transcript in mutants. Absence of protein was confirmed by Western blot analysis. (J:107735)
