A lacZ gene and neomycin resistance cassette was inserted in to the exon encoding the fourth kinase domain. The lacZ gene was fused in-frame to the endogenous gene. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that no detectable transcript was expressed from this allele, and histochemical staining failed to detect beta-galactosidase in multiple tissues tested. (J:20410)
