This allele was created in the same ES cells used to create Hoxdtm2Ddu and thus has a loxP site located 5' of Hoxd13. A lacZ reporter sequence followed by a PGKneo selection cassette was inserted into exon 2. In vitro cre expression removed the entire Hoxd cluster replacing it with a Hoxd11/lacZ fusion gene.
