A construct was designed to replace exons 9 and 10 with a neomycin resistance cassette by homologous recombination. This sequence encoded part of the N-terminal and the transmembrane domains 1 and 2. Northern blot failed to detect transcript in mutant brain samples. Immunoblot failed to detect protein in mutant brain samples. (J:103989)
