A neomycin resistance gene flanked by loxP sites was inserted into intron 36 and a third loxP site was inserted into intron 39. Transient transfection with cre recombinase resulted in the loss of exons 37-39. Western blot failed to detect protein in ES cells and fibroblasts. (J:102526)
