A neomycin resistance cassette replaces 1.86 kb of DNA containing all of exon 1 through exon 2 of the gene. Northern blot analysis of nine tissues demonstrated no detectable mRNA expression in homozygous mutants. ELISA detected no protein in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of mutant mice. (J:98708, J:102034)
