A neomycin resistance cassette was inserted and replaced the 5' promoter region, first exon and part of intron 1 of Afmid. The construct also replaced the 5' promoter region, first exon, first intron and a portion of exon 2 of Tk1. Afmid mRNA was not detected in mutant liver, kidney and salivary gland. (J:100247)
