Mice carrying the floxed allele Polgtm1Lrsn were crossed with mice expressing cre ubiquitously, causing the removal of exon 3. Deletion of exon 3 results in a frameshift mutation leading to a stop codon early in exon 4 and the loss of nearly all active domains of the locus. (J:99794)
