The lacZ gene fused in-frame downstream of the first 45 base pairs of exon 1 was inserted in place of exon 1 along with a floxed neomycin resistance cassette. The neo cassette was excised by breeding with mice bearing Tg(ACTB-cre)13Miya. Beta galactosidase activity was detected immunohistochemically. (J:99731)
