The 5.2-kb transgene comprises a "humanized" green fluorescent protein (GFP) coding sequence, flanked by the splice donor/acceptor sites and polyadenylation signal from SV40, downstream of approximately 4.1 kb of mouse genomic DNA containing the Ren1 5' flanking promoter/enhancer. Six to seven copies of the transgene were estimated by semi-quantitative Southern blot analysis to be present per haploid genome. Combined SKY-FISH analysis localized the single integration site to Chromosome 4. (J:36153, J:99617, J:99682)
