A floxed neo cassette was inserted into the unique BstZ17I site, creating an in-frame deletion of the coding region for amino acids 3-63 in exon 2. The neo cassette was later removed by transfecting a GFP-Cre plasmid and then carrying out fluorescence-activated cell sorting for GFP+ cells. (J:99310)
