Exons 2, 3, and the 5' region of exon 4 were replaced by an intron gene trap cassette encompassing an engrailed-2 splice acceptor sequence, a beta-gal cassette, and a neomycin gene resistance cassette. Northern blot analysis of RNA from splenic tissues confirmed the null mutation. (J:99456)
