Tg(GFAP)7Mes

This transgene consists of a 17.5 kb fragment of DNA extending about 6 kb upstream to 1.5 kb downstream of the human GFAP gene, including regulatory elements sufficient to direct astrocyte-specific expression. Five lines were established 3 of which had low levels of expression, lines 72.2, 73.3 and 73.4 given the strain designations TgN(GFAP)Mes7, TgN(GFAP)Mes8, and TgN(GFAP)Mes9, respectively.
