Exons 2-4, spanning amino acids 7-93, were replaced with an in-frame lacZ and a floxed PGK-neo selection cassette. The neo was removed via cre-mediated recombination. RT-PCR confirmed absence of transcript in colon samples from mutant mice. Betagalactosidase activity was detected in the colon and around the periphery of the islets. (J:98886)
