A pgk-neomycin cassette with a 5' endoplasmic reticulum retention signal and a 3' myc epitope replaced exons 18-19, which encode the transmembrane domain. RT-PCR of mutants failed to detect transcript from 3' of the insertion in mutants. Northern blot failed to detect the truncated transcript from mutants. (J:98440)
