The targeted allele harbors a frt-flanked neo cassette and a floxed exon 5. The neo cassette was subsequently removed by transient expression of Flp-recombinase, resulting in exon 5 flanked by loxP-frt (upstream) and loxP (downstream). Western blot of the brains of homozygous mice shows normal isoform profile and expression level. (J:96990)
