A floxed neomycin resistance cassette was placed in intron 2 and an additional loxP site was inserted 5' of exon 1. Transient cre expression resulted in the excision of exon 1 (containing the initiation site), exon 2 (with most of the catalytic domain), as well as the neomycin cassette. (J:96775)
