An IRES-Betagal-MC-neo cassette was inserted into exon 1, replacing the 3' end of exon 1, intron 1 and the 5' end of exon 2. The deleted sequence encoded transmembrane loops 1 and 2 and the encompassing domains. RT-PCR confirmed that the resulting allele was a null. (J:96442)
