The first 104 nucleotides of the coding region were replaced with an IRES and beta-geo cassette. The absence of transcript expression was confirmed by RT-PCR analysis on liver extracts. The absence of protein expression was confirmed by immunhistochemistry on granule cell layer and hilar neurons of the dentate gyrus samples. (J:103485, J:158444)
