Exons 6-8 were excised following cre-mediated excision. This sequence encoded the TGase catalytic core domain. Northern blot and RT-PCR both confirmed absence of transcript in mutant hearts. Lack of protein was demonstrated in mutant liver membranes and heart cytosol by Western blot analysis. (J:95130)
