A floxed PGK-neo replaced a 488-bp fragment containing the alternatively spliced exon 3. Expression of a cre vector excised the floxed neo, leaving a single loxP site in place of exon 3. Expression of transcript lacking exon 3 was increased compared to wild-type and full length mRNA was undetectable in mutant animals. (J:95374)
