A floxed neomycin selection cassette was inserted approximately 1 kb downstream of the gene and a third loxP site was inserted in the 3rd intron. The neomycin resistance cassette was subsequently removed by transient cre expression in ES cells. The remaining loxP sites had no effect on gene expression or phenotype. (J:95684)
