An IRES-Beta-galactosidase and neo cassette replaced the catalytic and disintegrin domains. Western blot analysis of lungs confirmed that Adam8 protein was abolished in mutant animals. X-gal staining showed that the endogenous promoter drove lacZ expression in lung tissue. (J:95366)
