Exons 1-4 and a 650 bp proximal promoter region were replaced with a neomycin cassette. RT-PCR and Northern blot analysis demonstrated the lack of transcript in mutant kidneys. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot showed that no protein was present in mutant mice. (J:95431)
