A segment extending from the middle of exon 3 to the middle of exon 6 was replaced with a neomycin resistance cassette. The open reading fram was thus disrupted 29 codons downstream of the ATG initiation codon. Absence of transcription was confirmed by RT-PCR. (J:57929)
