A fragment of the gene that encodes the amino acids 307 to the carboxy terminus was replaced with a construct containing an IRES followed by a tau/EGFP gene fusion. Cre mediated recombination removed the floxed neo cassette. The expression pattern of the reporter gene was shown to reflect the expression pattern of the endogenous gene. (J:77304)
