Exons 1a, 1b and 2 were replaced with a cassette containing an EGFP and a PGK-neo cassette so that EGFP expression would be controled by the endogenous promoter region. EGFP expression was detected in the inner cell mass of blastocysts and later in the epiblast but not the extraembryonic region of E6.5 embryos. (J:106405)
