A targeting vector was designed to replace 5 kb of sequence containing the promoter, exon 1 and a portion of intron 1 with a neo cassette placed in opposite orientation of transcription. Northern blot indicated the absence of transcript in mutant neonatal mouse brains. (J:94581)
