A PGK-neomycin cassette replaced exons 2-5. Exon 1 remains but codes only for the first 10 amino acids of the signal peptide. Absence of transcription and translation was confirmed by Northern and Western blot analyses, QRT-PCR and in situ hybridization. (J:94464)
