The wild-type murine agouti cDNA was cloned into an expression cassette involving the mouse Alb1 promoter and SV40 poly A sequences. This cassette was cloned into fertilized FVB/N oocytes and hemizygous mice were maintained on an FVB/N background. This allele was derived from founder 83. Northern blot analysis confirmed transgene expression in the liver. No expression was detected in muscle, small intestine, brain or white adipose tissue. (J:90795)
