The wild-type murine agouti cDNA was cloned into an expression construct under the regulation of the mouse albumin promoter. The polyA tail was derived from SV40. The expression cassette was injected into fertilized FVB/N oocytes, and hemizygote mice were maintained on the FVB/N background. This allele was derived from founder 86. Northern blot analysis showed transgene expression in the liver, but not in muscle, small intestine, brain or white adipose tissue. (J:90795)
