A 1.15 kb bragment of HBV subtype adr spanning nucleotides 707-1856 of the viral genome was cloned into CD-1 fertilized eggs. This DNA segment contains the entire coding region of the HBx gene, transcriptional enhancer sequence, principal RNA start sites and a polyA site. Northern blot analysis confirmed transgene expression in the liver, kidney and testis. This allele is associated with founder line H9. J:90881 further defined this allele as carrying 5 copies of the transgene. (J:78178)
