The transgene contains a rat probasin promoter, a mouse Cdc37 open reading frame, and SV40 Tag splice site/polyadenylation signal sequence. The transgenic insertion site is assumed to be on the Y chromosome as all transgenic mice are male. Transgenic mice overexpress Cdc37 in prostatic epithelia, a tissue where the endogenous Cdc37 gene product is absent or present at low levels. (J:93695)
