The entire coding region was replaced by a floxed hygromycin-thymidine kinase cassette. Transient cre expression in ES cells excised the cassette, leaving a single loxp site and the non-coding portion of the gene. RT-PCR of mutant ovaries demonstrated a lack of transcript. (J:93295)
