Floxed exons 2 and 3, encoding the homeodomain, introduced by homologous recombination were subsequently excised following Cre mediated recombination in the male germ line. Targeting took place in ES cells homozygous for the Tg(Prm-cre)70Og transgene, which expresses Cre recombinase in male germ cells. (J:92785)
