Exons 42 to 46 were replaced with a neomycin resistance cassette. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that a truncated mRNA was produced which was shorter than normal by 961 bases. The truncated mRNA lacked sequence coding for the catalytic part of the protein. (J:92590)
