The transgene comprises the human tumor necrosis factor gene with its 3' UTR, polyadenylation signal and flanking sequence replaced by those of the human hemoglobin beta (HBB) gene. This modification interferes with posttranscriptional regulation of TNF expression, altering expression levels and timing, but apparently not its tissue specificity. Line 197 carries approximately 5 tandemly-arrayed copies of the transgene. (J:92576)
