A neomycin resistance gene cassette replaced sequence encoding amino acids 103-207 of the encoded peptide, including conserved exonuclease magnesium binding motifs II and III. RT-PCR showed no transcript present in mutant spleens. Mutant livers did not demonstrate protein in Western blot analysis. (J:92264)
