Exon 2 was replaced by a PGK-neo in reverse orientation, resulting in a frameshift downstream of the targeted region. Southern blot and PCR confirmed recombination. Northern blot showed no transcript in mutants and Western blot showed no protein was translated in mutant kidneys. (J:92240)
