5 kb of promoter sequence to the human APOA-I gene were fused to human APOA-II coding sequence. 10 copies of the transgene intergrated into the genome of this founder strain. In these mice, human APOA2 mRNA is found only in the liver. Transgenic mice express a dimeric form of human apolipoprotein A-II. Levels of murine HDL, APOA1, and APOA2 in transgenic mice were comparable to those found in normal wildtype siblings. (J:92450)
