Homologous recombination was used to create a 133 kb deletion containing a single copy of HPRT1 with a loxP site in the middle, as well as agouti and tyrosinase minigenes. Southern blot confirmed recombination. This mutation is slightly smaller than the original OdsTg(Tyr)1220Ove mutation and uses the endogenous tyrosinase promoter rather than the Dct promoter found in the original mutation. (J:91429)
