A neomycin resistance gene replaced part of exon 3 and all of exons 4-7, eliminating the last 512 amino acids. The first 227 amino acids were putatively unstable as no transcript was detected in Northern or Western blot. PCR of cell lines confirmed recombination in mutants. (J:91881)
