The region was replaced by a floxed neomycin resistance cassette, which was subsequently excised via transient Cre expression. Southern blot indicated successful targeting. The maternally inherited deletion results in biallelic expression of Dlk1, and Rtl1, with maternal transcript levels of Rtl1 at ~77% that of the unmanipulated paternal allele. The maternally inherited deletion also resulted in the activation of maternal Dio3. (J:91849)
