Exon 2 was replaced with a neomycin resistance gene. Mutant transcripts were detected by Northern blot of peritoneal macrophages. RT-PCR and sequencing confirmed that the mutant transcripts resulted from the deletion of the second exon and that the normal protein was not produced in mutant mice. (J:92047)
