Part of intron 4 and exon 5 were replaced by a neo cassette. Southern blot confirmed recombination. A 50-70% decrease in mRNA was found in heterozygotes and no mRNA was found in homozygotes by Northern blot analysis. Western blot indicated absence of protein in mutant tissue samples. (J:91752)
